Christmas is in 9 days! I can’t wait to give my homemade gifts to my family! I love christmas because we have so many traditions, and the whole family is together to celebrate. Here is my christmas in a nutshell:
On Christmas Eve, we go to my Oma and Opa’s house for a big dinner, with German hot dogs, stuffing, crab legs, ham, salad, mashed potatoes( the best in the world, made by my Opa). I read the Bible on the section for Christmas,Then we gather around the Christmas Tree and exchange gifts. After, everyone goes home. My Mum buys me and my sister matching pyjamas to wear on Christmas Eve, so on Christmas day we match. We try them on, and leave ‘reindeer dust’ (oats and sprinkles) out side, and leave cookies for Santa. My sister comes to my bed to sleep and we have a ‘sleepover’ kind of, where we imagine what will happen tomorrow, what we will get, and people’s reactions when we give them our gifts. We also read the very classic Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer ( The copies we have are, like, a hundred years old, no joke). And mostly just are anxious for what the next day will bring to us. Me and my sister wake up,( usually early,) but my parents made up the rule we can’t wake them up until 8 o’clock in the morning (GRRR!!) so at 7:59 am there we are telling them to wake up already because it’s christmas for pete’s sake, and we all go to the family room to see what Santa brought us in our stockings. There is lots of “thank-you-so-muches” and I can’t wait to use its” and “Merry christmases” going around, and plenty hugs. Then we go to the Tree. And things just go along lazily from there, trying out new things, eating pancakes. The we all go to my other Grandma’s house for dinner and we all play musical chairs, The game of life, and pass the parcel.
I love my family and I love Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

So happy and excited! She is what motivates me everyday think positively, and keep in good spirits.
Hope you all have something to look forward to!

Hey everyone! I have the christmas bug. So I’ve decorated my room with lights, put a wreath on my bedroom door, and hung a stocking on my wall…I’ve also started making my gifts, making handmade cards, and even christmas cookies. Not to mention the christmas playlist on my iPod, so I can listen to Christmas music whenever I please. I was also wondering if the choir is going to sing anything for Christmas? I also am remembering traditions from past Christmases. Do you have any favourite family traditions? Speaking of which, I can’t wait to take care of El Tio! What’s a bit weird was that I just found a bracelet that said “spirit” on it, and I am so coincidentally titling a post called Christmas Spirit! Ha! Who knew? Anyway, That’s all for now!
Enjoy the season!!!

Sarah,
I was at hockey to watch a relative of mine, but also to see the level of competition. I’m always interested in the tournaments that host out-of-town teams, especially the ones that come from large cities from the States. The team from Chicago in the Atom division was fun to watch as was the team from Southern Ontario. Very talented players!

On Saturday, I saw Mr.Connell at hockey what were you doing there???? I was watching my cousin he is on the greyhound jr. I think I need to give him advice because he is too nice in hockey he needs to be more agressive. Somebody pushed him and I said oh no he didn’t just hit my cousin!!!

The benefits of being bilingual in Canada are to get a better job. When you apply for a job you will be more likely to get the job you want if you are bilingual, because you can speak two languages instead of one. For example if someone comes in and they are from Quebec you can interact with them if they are talking french as opposed to only talking one language(english) and not understanding them. Rosedale is a bilingual. We talk french and english so we know two languges . Being bilingual is also good if you travel, so if you go to France or Quebec someday you can talk with the people there. At Rosedale everyone encourages you to talk french and english. Also it helps if siblings go to french school you can help them with homework, because if you went to just english school you woulden’t be able to help them with their homework. Therefore I do believe being bilingual is a very good thing!
